北京pk10彩票官网 www.bjn98.com We already knew Arizona is home to a lot of transplants (looking at you, Chicagoans) but recently released Census data shows us just how few adult residents are Arizona natives.
By sifting through 2017 American Community Survey Census data released last month, CityLab charted the percentage of U.S. adults living in their birth state.
According to CityLab, only 23 percent of adults 25 years and older currently living in Arizona were born in the state. Arizona is one of four states with the least amount of native adult residents.
CityLab found that only 10 percent of current adult residents in Nevada was born there, 22 percent in Florida and 27 percent in Alaska.?
The data shows that even fewer Arizonan natives with a college education stay in the state. Only 17 percent of the highly educated adults in Arizona were born here.
Arizonans seem to be a lot more mobile than most Americans. Nationally, nearly 60 percent of Americans currently live in the state where they were born.?
